Samhain Ceremony & Drum Circle

Samhain (SOW-uhn) is the Celtic marker for the end of summer light and growth, and the beginning of winter’s darkness, release, and preparation for rebirth. It is a time to honor the ancestors, the earth’s abundance and generosity, the majesty of the turning wheel of life, and to gather strength and protection for the winter.
Two Ways to Attend This Year's Event
Our Samhain event this year will be unlike past years. It will take place at our house in South Minneapolis: 4227 Lyndale Avenue South. Please Park on Lyndale or on the side streets.
6:30 - about 7:30: Drum Circle and Storytelling (in the house)
Seating is extremely limited (about 20, some on the floor). No drumming experience needed - bring a drum or rattle or other sound maker or borrow from our "Mound 'O Wahoo." To reserve your spot, use the button at the bottom of the page.
8PM-9PM: Ritual Fire and Prayers.
No ritual, shamanic or Celtic experience necessary. All are welcome! Those at the first half are welcome to attend the ritual fire and make prayers. Those who can’t attend the first part of the evening are welcome to show up at 8PM for the fire, prayers, and community wahoo. You are free to stay for a while or leave as soon as you wish. The evening is over at 9.
We will have some materials on hand to make small prayer bundles, and we’ll offer some guidance to those who want it. You are also free to bring your own prayer items with you to put into the fire. Please just make sure that they are burnable, small, and not made of toxic materials.
