Become a “Reindeer Blessor” at this year’s Winter Solstice Extravaganza!
We are thrilled to announce that our 23rd Annual Winter Solstice Blessing will return to the Minnesota Opera Center in downtown Minneapolis. It is a magnificent environment for this communal, joyful, spiritually nourishing event. We were in this awesome space for ten years before moving to Wood Lake Nature Center for a few years. We expect approximately 120 each night for the holiday fun.
The event culminates with everyone in the audience receiving a blessing from the Great Reindeer Spirit. So, we offer you this opportunity to work shamanically with the Reindeer, build a powerful relationship with her as an otherworldly helper, and deliver a blessing to the community gathered together each night. That blessing is delivered with the help of a rattle and singing. If you have a rattle, that’s good, but we can also supply you with one.
Reindeer, as we will work with her, is a beautiful winter solstice figure and bringer of new life. The way I work with her, she is a form of the Great Mother of Life. I came to the Reindeer from my work thirty years ago with a shaman (Noadi) from the Sami people of Northern Norway. Reindeer is also present in the Celtic world, although not overtly evident. Reindeer has been a powerful presence and helping spirit for me for three decades, and I am so happy to be able to offer you this training and the opportunity to join the festive wahoo of this season’s solstice event.
You can take this training without participating in the Solstice event, but to participate as a blessor in the Solstice event, you must take this training. Women and men alike are welcome. Anyone who wants to work with the Divine Feminine in her blessing and generous aspect is heartily welcomed! As a reindeer blessor, you will also be part of the chorus of singers for the event. You don’t have to have a wonderful voice. There are no auditions. The Solstice event runs on December 19, 20, and 21, Friday-Sunday. It’s great if you commit to all three nights, but not critical.
Reindeer Training Four-Class Schedule:
- Three Tuesdays November 25th and December 2 and 9th. (7 PM - 9:15 PM)
- One Friday, December 12: 6:30 – 9:30 PM
Solstice Rehearsals:
- Sunday December 14, 10AM -3 PM / Location TBA
- Tuesday December 16th, 6:30- 9:30 PM / Location TBA
- Thursday, December 17th (Dress Rehearsal) 6:30 PM-10PM / Downtown Minneapolis
Solstice Performances (cast call times):
- Friday, December 19: 4 PM (Show ends about 10 PM)
- Saturday, December 20: 5 PM
- Sunday, December 21: 5 PM (After show strike for those willing to help)
