The Dark Mother and The Celtic Cailleach

This time of year is perfect to open or deepen your relationship with The Dark Mother – the Divine Feminine in her aspect as “remover” of energies, initiator, cleanser, healer, transformer.

We will focus our work on the Celtic Cailleach (The “Old Woman,” “The Veiled One). We will delve into her stories and character, and connect her with other magnificent, cross-cultural “Dark Mother” mythic figures.

I personally like to call her The Old Bone Mother. She is older than the Celts, but they adopted her into their mythic world. She is an autumn-into-winter figure. She is the transformer who helps remove dead energies that are hindering us and carry them to the otherworld. In this way she is a powerful otherworldly helper for healing. I also believe our species, and the world, is working with her right now in profound ways. Working with her consciously and formally can bring some clarity to our current chaos.

The class will use the shamanic drum journey as a working technique. If you are unfamiliar with this, you can download my “Basic Journey Guide” (14.99). We will journey in each class.

During the three weeks of the class, we will also email you additional resources to pursue as you wish, including various awesome myths and stories of the "Dark Feminine," songs, prayers, poems, videos, and essays.
