Make Your Own Drum
Friday, April 10, 6:30 - 10:30
Picture
Making your own hand drum ("Shaman's Drum") is a beautiful experience and you create a powerful life-long tool, companion and teacher.
I made my "working" drum with Wayne 25 years ago and I still use it today for ceremonies, journeys and healings.

We will be guided by Wayne Manthey, who has guided thousands of people to make drums over the last 25+ years. We will make the drums over ~3 hours and then bless them with song, smoke and prayers.

We provide you with all the materials you need (wooden frame, deer hide, stain for coloring etc.) You can choose to build a 13" or a 16" drum. Generally speaking, a 13" drum will have a somewhat higher tone, and is easier to carry because it fits into many bags. A 16" drum may have a somewhat deeper tone - but this is not always the case. Wayne will explain more to you, and you can choose your drum size the night of the workshop. You may want to bring a small rock or other smooth object - one that could fit easily into the palm of your hand - that can go inside the drum handle. (See the drum handle in the image at left - the grey rock.)  Questions about the process? Look at Wayne's Website.

Workshop Cost: $199
